They worked just fine with the eagle rods I had @ the time.. A unknown hole in my passenger side intercooler caused 1 bank to run ultra lean an it grenaded them.. 4 bent valves, 2 nuked JE pistons on cylinders 3 and 6...The eagle rods were fine, an my bearings looked fine.. I subsequently had a custom set of Ross Racing pistons, rings, and wrist pins made. All I can say is WOW with the quality of the Ross set in comparison to the JE's... Folks claim piston slap on cold starts.. An to date, if I started up a stock Z motor, a Z with weisco's, an my Z with Ross all side by side, I honestly cannot discern a difference in start up noise.. Sounds pretty stock an smooth :) So long story short, if no other issues are present, you will be fine with JE pistons an eagle rods... I believe each eagle rod is rated at 200HP per cylinder, so that's @ least 1200rwhp of insurance from bending under pressure in theory (for the cheap price in comparison to other brands, they do their job just fine).
